Using the UAW International Special Bargaining Convention as inspiration, the following process is suggested:<br /> <br /> # The Bargaining Convention shall operate on Robert’s Rules of Order, presided over by the Bargaining Committee and chaired by the President of UAW 4811. Using the UAW International Special Bargaining Convention as inspiration, the following process is suggested:<br /> <br /> # The Bargaining Convention shall operate on Robert’s Rules of Order, presided over by the Bargaining Committee and chaired by the President of UAW 4811. Robert’s Rules of Order allows for resolutions to be amended, tabled, and debated on, among other procedural motions, to ensure that resolutions brought to the convention are considered thoughtfully by the convention. <br /> # Delegates shall submit resolutions on bargaining priorities in advance of the convention to be agendized for debate at the convention. For a resolution to be considered at the convention, it must be co-signed by at least 12 delegates (~5% of total convention delegates), including delegates from at least 2 campuses. Deadlines shall be set in advance and noticed to convention delegates by the Bargaining Committee. <br /> # The Bargaining Committee shall prepare an agenda for the convention based on resolutions submitted by the convention delegates.<br /> ## In the event that there are too many resolutions submitted for proper consideration by the convention, the Bargaining Committee may place a number of resolutions onto a consent agenda for omnibus consideration. <br /> # After debate has concluded on priority resolutions, the Bargaining Committee shall prepare an initial draft of bargaining demands based on those priorities to be presented to the convention for consideration of the delegates.
